Phil Levy and Leo Glass have been making music together for the past
four years. They met after Leo, who had been in a touring rock band, settled
with his family in the same area, in the shadow of Mt.Warning.
Phil was already established in the north coast acoustic music scene.
Their musical styles seemed to blend beautifully and they soon compiled
a repetoire, and began playing at north coast venues and festivals.
For the past 12 months they have been working on original material for
a second album featuring their vintage instruments. The CD is now complete,
the music strongly influenced by the special area in which they live,
blending and combining a number of musical styles and influences from
all around our beautiful planet.
Joining
them on the CD is the soulful violin of Julie Metcalfe, a long time musical
companion of Phil and now a full time band member.
Completing the line up is drummer and percussionist Guy Madigan who
plays Darabukka, Bodhran, Tapan Cymbals and bells. Guy recently moved
to Byron Bay after playing for many years with international touring
band 'Sirocco'.
Coinciding with the release of their first cd "WANTED", The
ROMANIACS received the 2004 Dolphin award for Best Instrumental.
Now after several years in the making, the Romaniacs have finally released
their follow-up album, 'Rainbow Town'.
